EDUCATION
Our students deserve the best possible education.
We must aggressively fund our public schools to ensure our students, teachers, and administrators have the necessary resources to create engaging learning environments. We will close the funding gap and create equality in our school districts, giving every child the foundation for continued success.
The effects of the pandemic can still be felt in our schools. Our students need to be in the classroom to give them the best possible instruction and social outlets for development. Teachers and administrators need to know that Lansing has their backs, providing them with the legislation and resources required for safe classroom instruction.
DEFEND REPRODUCTIVE FREEDOM AND ABORTION
All people deserve respect, and that includes respecting a person’s right to choose.
The overturning of Roe v. Wade has made this a decision left to the individual states. It is critically important that a pro-choice majority is elected to the legislature. Not only to ensure abortion remains available in Michigan, but to preserve access to women’s health services, contraception, and other critically important care.
Choice is on the ballot. As the only candidate in this race endorsed by Planned Parenthood Advocates of Michigan, you can count on John to passionately defend choice and reproductive freedom.
HEALTHCARE AND
WELLNESS
Everyone has a right to quality healthcare.
The stress and strain on our current system has been highlighted during the pandemic, but we need to do more to support and expand our care network. Mental health services, addiction services, and expanded food access all contribute to a healthier, stronger Michigan.
John will fight for fair access to healthcare services to make certain that no Michigander is left wondering if they can afford their medical care.
Community facilities are a critical component to sustaining healthy lifestyles. John is committed to expanding recreation systems, improving parks, and creating spaces for the community to gather.

Job training in key industries such as healthcare, information technology, transportation, and manufacturing will attract new stakeholders into our the district.

COMMON SENSE GUN REFORMS
Keeping our friends, neighbors, and children safe is imperative. We need changes that promote responsible firearm ownership.
Owning a firearm is an enormous responsibility. Safe storage bills, waiting periods for firearm purchases, and assault weapon age requirements are common sense steps we can start with to improve community safety.
Our children and young people do not deserve to live in a world where there is a constant, looming potential for violence. John will be an advocate for firearm safety and responsibility in the legislature.
